Outline of each module: Module 1 – Electrical Safety: Outline of topics: Electrical Safety Electrical Concepts (Ohm’s Law, Watt’s Law, Kirchoff’s Laws, etc.) Electrical Circuits Components Magnetism and Electromagnetism Alternating Current Direct Current Capacitive & Inductive Reactance Transformers Module 2 – Industrial Motor Controls: Outline of topics: Electrical Quantities and Circuits Electrical Symbols and Diagrams, Control Logic DC Generators, and DC Motors AC Generators and AC Motors Power Distribution Systems Contractors and Magnetic Motor Starters, Reversing Motor Starters AC and DC Motor Drives Control Devices, Timing and Counting Functions, and Relays Sensing Devices and Controls Module 3 – PLC’s: Outline of topics: PLC’s architecture PLC’s hardware Establishing communications with a PLC Logic control diagrams Output devices Input devices Develop a sample program for MicroLogix PLC Practical troubleshooting A participant may take one module, two modules or all three modules. However, the trainer expects participants to have a basic understanding of the concepts taught in the previous module before continuing or being placed in the next module. 3 Modules. You can enroll in one, two or three: Each module is 8 Thursdays for a total of 32 hours each. Module 1 – Basic Electricity: Thursdays, September 19 – November 7, 2019 8:00 am – 12:00 pm Module 2 – Motor Controls: Thursdays, November 14, 2019 – January 23, 2020 8:00 am – 12:00 pm Module 3 – PLC’s: Thursdays, January 30 – March 19, 2020 8:00 am – 12:00 pm
