In April 2020, Arts Visalia is pleased to exhibit the Biennial Baskets and Gourds Show & Workshop. This is their 8th Biennial Conference, held at the Elks Lodge Mill Creek Conference Center on April 25th-26th. The exhibition runs from April 1st ? 24th. There will be two receptions held at Arts Visalia for the exhibition: an opening reception on First Friday, April 3rd from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and a closing reception on Friday, April 24th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Arts Visalia will host an Artist Talk on Saturday, April 4th at 2:00 p.m. with some of the featured artists. There will also be an opportunity to meet all of the artists and learn more about their work, on the day of the closing reception. The exhibition is sponsored in part by Jack & Charlie's, the Vintage Press Restaurante, and the Southern Pacific Depot Restaurant. In May 2020, Arts Visalia presents the Susan Moore Exhibition. Susan Moore was born in Burbank, California and grew up in Studio City. She received her BA in Fine Art from California State University Northridge. She now resides in Reno, Nevada. Susan has been an artist all her life, and has made her living in graphic design, art direction and currently, decorative wall finishes. She is now focusing on her fine art. She has worked in many mediums, but really enjoys the immediacy of acrylics. Susan?s work mostly resembles impressionistic landscapes. In addition to our main exhibition, we will also be featuring the artwork of Emma Mora, a promising 20 year-old artist and illustrator originally from Tulare, California. Mora began her education as an illustration major at CSU, Fullerton from 2018 to 2019, and has since been proactive with her artistry. She has created merchandise art for up and coming pop artist, Cyn, several other music artist projects, and even for the promotion of her own art. Along with creating art for fashion and other products, she is also passionate about creating traditional and entertainment art, such as figure drawings, paintings, and character designs. In 2019, Emma was accepted into Parsons School of Design in New York as an illustration major. In the future, Emma hopes to become a working illustrator for the entertainment industry, as well as continue creating art of all kinds. Susan and Emma?s work will be on display April 29th through May 29th, with an opening reception on First Friday, May 1st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will also be an artist talk on May 2nd at Arts Visalia, at 2pm. The exhibition is sponsored in part by Jack & Charlie's, the Vintage Press Restaurante, the Southern Pacific Depot Restaurant and the Arts Consortium. Arts Visalia?s Young Imaginations Gallery will display the artworks of 5-17 year old participants of our children?s classes from March?s session of Art in Drawing.
