DESCRIPTION:October features the work of Jesus Santa Cruz and Arien Reed. Santa Cruz expresses the intersectionality of queer and Mexican American experiences through printmaking and ceramics. Reed creates mixed media portraits of trans individuals throughout history. The exhibitions will run from October 3-26\, 2024. An opening reception will take place on Friday\, October 4 from 5:00 pm-7:30 pm. An Artist Talk with Jesus Santa Cruz will take place on Saturday\, October 5 at 2:00 pm. An Artist Talk with Arien Reed will take place on Saturday\, October 26 at 2:00 pm. Visit the Arts Visalia booth at PRIDE VISALIA on Saturday\, October 12\, 11:00 am ? 4:00 pm at Valley Strong Ballpark and then Taste the Arts on Garden Street on Saturday\, October 19\, 10:00 am-4:00 pm for live screen-printing demonstrations. Learn how to screen print designs on paper and cloth items while learning about all that Arts Visalia has to offer. Live screen-printing demonstrations are sponsored by Blick Art Materials. November at Arts Visalia will showcase a variety of hand-crafted altar spaces for D a de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). The altars will be on exhibit between October 31 -November 15\, 2024. An opening reception will take place on Friday\, November 1 from 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm. A cultural presentation featuring a talk\, and a mariachi band will take place on Saturday\, November 2 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Cultural dancers and children's crafts will be at Arts Visalia on Saturday\, November 9 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. The Annual Holiday Show & Sale featuring hand-crafted artisan goods and wares will open Friday\, November 22 and run through Saturday\, December 21\, 2024.
