DESCRIPTION:After taking a short break to complete repairs to the gallery Arts Visalia is so excited to be back with exhibitions from Patrick Brien and Charis Fleshner. Using layers to create visual interest Patrick Brien's abstract paintings invoke a feeling of architecture and mapping in urban environments that pull the viewer into the work. Creating bright and playful soft sculptures and acrylic paintings Charis Fleshner conjures a feeling of joy in the gallery. These exhibitions will be on display from March 2nd to March 25th with a First Friday opening reception from 6-8pm on March 4th. Arts Visalia Visual Art Gallery and gift shop is open from Noon to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays at 214 East Oak Avenue in downtown Visalia. Virtual Gallery Tours are available at www.artsvisalia.org/virtual-tours\, so you can enjoy art from home or in person. While checking out the First Friday art stops\, be sure to take a trip along Main Street between Hall and Santa Fe Street in Downtown Visalia to see the eye catching Art on Fire hydrants. Painted with unique designs by local artists\, the 25 hydrants brighten up our beautiful downtown area. You can pick up a brochure detailing the locations and artists at Arts Visalia. Arts Visalia is celebrating 25 years as Visalia's premier center for the visual arts. With the support of many throughout the years\, we have fervently carried on the founders' vision of a permanent center for the visual arts where you can view and purchase art and participate in quality arts education classes. We acknowledge and thank the original visionary building partners and all who continue to invest in making Arts Visalia a vibrant center for the visual arts in our community.
