SUMMARY:Central Valley Workplace Conference
DESCRIPTION:Burke Farrah\, Lieutenant with the Fresno Police Department who now is in charge of the Street Violence Section\, will start off our day with his presentation\, "Make My Day." It's not what you think\, especially coming from a street-wise police officer! \n	Richard Simmons\, a well-known lawyer and author of many treatises on California employment law will make three presentations related to wage and hour laws\, wrongful termination and discrimination. Richard is an entertaining speaker and a wealth of information. \n	Beth De Lima will also make three presentations related to leaves of absences. She spoke at Central California SHRM last year and was wonderful! Beth will discuss the interactive process\, transitioning between leaves and accommodations and investigations. \n	Hector Alvarez will make two presentations. His first workshop is on identifying the signs of potential workplace violence. His second presentation will focus on responding to the active shooter. \n	Don Marshall\, who serves as the Chairman of the California State Fraud Assessment Commission\, will discuss the Four Faces of Workers' Compensation Fraud. \n	Our luncheon speakers are Brenda Budke and Dan Larsen with Sierra HR Partners will provide a key to success capitalizing on feedback in their training on How the Hippo Lost Its Fur.
