DESCRIPTION:SHRM and other research studies indicate that effective workplace communication plays a key role in business success. For HR professionals\, the ability to communicate effectively is a critical competency to be able to contribute to that success.\n\nIn this session\, you will learn the benefits of effective workplace communication\, strategies for building a culture of trust and belief\, the importance of effective communication as an HR competency\, and the skills you need to develop to be a\n\nproficient communicator.\n\nScott D. Ferrin\, SHRM-SCP\, CAE\, PMP\n\nSHRM Field Service Director\n\nSociety for Human Resource Management\n\nScott D. Ferrin has been a Regional Field Services Director for SHRM since 2010. His primary responsibilities include managing state council relationships\, serving as a liaison with state councils\, chapters and volunteer leaders\, and promoting SHRM membership.\n\nHe attends State Council meetings and conferences\, and\, as his schedule permits\, chapter events. He has served in a variety of volunteer organizations prior to serving as the Legislative Director for the East Valley Human ResourcesAssociation (EVHRA)\, a SHRM Affiliate Chapter in Arizona. Scott is certified as a SHRM-Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP)\, a Certified Association\n\nExecutive (CAE)\, and a Project Management Professional (PMP).\n\nScott has over 20 years of work experience in HR. Prior to joining the SHRM staff\, he held titles as a Senior Workforce Planner\, Workforce Planning Manager\, Talent Manager\, Recruiter\, HR Generalist\, and HR Manager for companies ranging in size from Fortune 500 down to start-up companies with 20 employees.
