DESCRIPTION:The event\, set to take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.at Visalia Rawhide Stadium\, is a fundraiser to grant wishes for children throughout California with high-risk and life-threatening illnesses. It's also a chance to watch members of law enforcement\, firefighters\; emergency and military personnel have their heads shaved publicly by professional stylists\, a visual act of solidarity to honor children who have lost their hair to chemotherapy. \n\n "This  event is for the entire family and it serves a very special purpose   helping grant\n\nbig wishes for children who often have very little time\," said Carmen Perez\, executive\n\ndirector of California Law Enforcement's Wish Upon A Star.\n\n \n\nThroughout the event\, attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy a chili cook-off\, live music and activities for the entire family including a ceremony honoring the 2014 Top Agency and the 2014 Top Cop. In 2013\, Bill Diltz of the Visalia Police Department was named top cop. \n\n \n\nWish Upon A Star is a non-profit\, law enforcement effort designed to grant the wishes of children ages 3 to 18 years old dealing with high-risk and life-threatening illness.
