From Migrant farmworker to PhD: The Luz Gonzalez story
210 Connect will eschew its usual panel forum format to share the inspiring story of Luz Gonzalez, the dean of Fresno State Visalia Campus.
Gonzalez's talk will include the importance of education and opportunity, especially in under-served communities and the future of higher education in Tulare County. The public is encouraged to attend the free community-based talk, which is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14. Gonzalez will field questions from the audience after her talk.
210 Connect is a community forum held the 2nd Monday evening September-June. It is a collaboration of the 1st Presbyterian Church and the Visalia Times-Delta. The mission is to bring people together in a safe and welcoming atmosphere to find solutions to community quality-of-life issues.
