The tea will feature the following events:
- Inspirational Videos: These videos will feature local breast cancer survivors including Kelly Salcedo, of Exeter, Christie Cox, of Visalia, Aryn Giannandrea, of Visalia and Rona Swanson, of Visalia.
- A Walk of Hope Rose Ceremony: This ceremony will honor those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. Roses are being sold for $5 in remembrance of or in honor of family and friends who have been touched by cancer. The money from the sale of these roses will go to the Lost Girls Fund created by the Lost Girls Motorcycle Club. Proceeds pay for the cost of mammograms for low-income women. Anyone may purchase a rose, even if they are not attending the tea by calling 624-2463. Those who have been honored and are in attendance will participate in a walk of hope and place their roses collectively in a vase. Those who are not in attendance will have their roses placed in a vase with a listing of the names of honorees beside it.
- Box of Inspiration: Anyone in the community can provide a note to inspire breast cancer patients by e-mailing them to marketstaff@kdhcd.org or posting them at facebook.com/kaweahdelta. These will be shared with breast cancer patients at Sequoia Regional Cancer Center.
- Music & Opportunity Drawings: Anyone who completes Kaweah Delta’s Breast CancerAware risk assessment by Friday, Oct. 3, atwww.kaweahdelta.org/giveaway will be entered into an opportunity drawing for a Samsung tablet with a pink case and stylus. Winner will be announced at the event (attendance not required to win).
- A Photo Booth: Attendees are invited to take playful pictures to capture the day.
