The Arts Consortium presents Michael Jasso's Artist of the Year exhibit: The Loudest Voice in the Smallest Room. Jasso is a local spoken word artist who is the lead organizer for the local slam poetry community: Loud Mouth Poetry Jam. Poetry has been a part of Jasso's life for more than 15 years. His intentions for this exhibit include using the space to honor his journey as a spoken word artist, reflect on what the Loud Mouth Community continues to accomplish, and being true to the direction he sees his craft growing. Jasso takes on the challenge of taking an art form that is typically found on the stage or left in-between pages and taking it to the walls of a gallery. A typewriter station will also be an interactive part of the exhibit where Jasso invites guests to write and type up their own poems.
