Encapsulating the vast beauty of nature, photographers James Bonafé, Robert Farrell, and William Gerlach, have created an enchanting exhibition that will be on display from September 2nd until September 25th, 2020. A First Friday reception will be held Friday, September 4th, 2020, 6-8 p.m., followed by an artist talk on September 5th at 2 p.m. These compelling photographs come from a variety of locations across the globe, providing an opportunity to experience different parts of the world at Arts Visalia Visual Art Center. James Bonafé has been an active member of the Central Valley art community since 2002. With an attempt to bring art into every aspect of his life and work, Bonafé has embodied his love of movement and color in this collection of photographs from his travels around the world and Visalia. Over 40 years of editing and printing, Robert Farrell has sharpened his ability to capture unique visual moments. Farrell calls this collection “Fire and Ice” to evoke the visual difference between Iceland and the Southwest United States. Compelled to photograph visually striking moments led Farrell to create this captivating exhibition. As a practicing Optometrist William Gerlach is no stranger to the eye, so it’s no surprise that he began using his artistic eye to capture the landscape. Gerlach has created an impressive catalog of photographs showcasing the varied beauty that can be seen throughout the Central Coast. For those unable to attend the gallery a virtual gallery tour will be available beginning Friday, September 4th, on our website at www.artsvisalia.org/virtual-tours. The exhibition is sponsored in part by Jack & Charlie’s, the Vintage Press Restaurante, and the Southern Pacific Depot Restaurant.
