Former Chief of Operations, Worldwide Counter Terrorism Center, CIA
For over three decades, Steve has devoted his life to service for our nation.
His experience spans from U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets), to National Security sensitive operations with the CIA, to Counter-Terrorism, Hostage Rescue, & Crisis Response; and National Counter Terrorism policy writing for the Ambassador, Office of Counter Terrorism, U. S. Department of State.
Steve has conducted operations with or trained officers of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Department of State, FBI, U.S. Customs Service, DEA, Border Patrol, and Sheriff’s Departments. He has responded to crises worldwide and has led or participated in Counter Terrorism operations and freed American citizens from their captors, operations to capture terrorists, gathered intelligence, and has conducted over 400 interviews with Islamic extremists.
He has spoken before senior U.S. Government officials, Foreign Cabinet level officials, and International Counter Terrorism Groups on subjects of CT, the clash of Arab & Western Cultures, the Psychology of Terrorists, and Inter-Agency Cultural Clashes. Steve has personally briefed sensitive national level operational plans to the directors of the CIA and FBI and Foreign Government National Security Advisors.
His former positions include: Deputy Director of Operations for Policy, Office of the Coordinator for Counter-Terrorism, U.S. State Department; Chief of Operations, within the Worldwide Counter Terrorism Center, CIA; and Army Special Forces leader and commander.
Steve has a Master’s degree from the U. S. Army Command & General Staff College, has been a member of the National Security Council Hostage Sub-Group; and is certified as a Trainer & Coach, Interviewer & Debriefer, Infrastructure Security Vulnerability Assessment specialist, and Crisis & Consequence Management specialist.
