COS: Conflict Resolution: Strategies for Navigating Difficult Conversations

This course focuses on the practical skills and real-world application of conflict resolution in personal, professional, and societal contexts. Students will build essential competencies in negotiation, mediation, and facilitation while learning to effectively navigate and resolve conflicts. A central focus of the course is the UNITY 5-step conflict resolution model, which guides students through unpacking biases, understanding differing positions, identifying common ground, taking responsibility for change, and embracing new perspectives.
