Saturday, March 12th 230 NW 3rd Ave Volunteer OpportunityHome Fire Campaign partnership with Visalia Fire Dept, Boy Scouts of America and American Red Cross
The event is part of the Home Fire Campaign, a national effort to reduce home fire deaths by installing free smoke alarms through the country and educating families on the importance of having an emergency preparedness plan.
The American Red Cross launched the national Home Fire Campaign last fall to reduce deaths and injuries from home fires by as much as 25 percent over the next five years. The campaign seeks to increase the use of smoke alarms in neighborhoods with higher numbers of home fires and to encourage all Americans to practice their fire escape plans.
Volunteers are still needed for this event. Members of the community are encouraged to visit redcross.org/cencalhfc to sign up. Volunteers will fill the positions of Smoke Alarm Installer, Disaster Safety Educator and Documenter/Reporter. Registration will help ensure that we have enough materials, tools, and food for the volunteers. Volunteers will be able to register for one of three shift options. We encourage volunteers to wear their company/organization shirts for representation. Lunch will be provided and donated from a local business. Due to the nature of the event, no children under the age of 16 may participateDate and Time
