Arts Visalia Presents: Peggee Davis and Dolores Witt September’s exhibition will feature the sculptural work of local artist Peggee Davis and a retrospective display of artwork by acclaimed artist Dolores Witt. These works will be on display Sept. 1st through Sept. 24th with a First Friday reception on Sept. 3rd from 6:00-8:00 p.m.. Peggee Davis creates striking sculptural works that encapsulate the various aspects of femininity. Creating both small and almost life size works Peggee’s sculptures combine texture and imagery to create compelling depictions. In her hands clay and porcelain are molded into works that explore the many complex journeys of women to achieve balance and parity. Dolores Witt started her Art Career at Disney Studios during WWII and later worked at MGM on Tom & Jerry cartoons. She moved to Visalia in 1972. Witt was an established and acclaimed multi-media artist who continued studies in her craft throughout her adult life. This retrospective show will exhibit Delores’ wide array of paintings and drawings that she created over her lifetime. Arts Visalia is honored to display her work as an opportunity for our community to remember Dolores’ life and legacy. Arts Visalia is celebrating 25 years as Visalia’s premier center for the visual arts.
