The Visalia Fox Theatre celebrates its 85th Anniversary with a special showing of Zane Grey's "Lone Star Ranger", the first "talkie" film shown at the theatre back in 1930. Starring "California's own hard-riding, hard-hitting son George O'Brien and Sue Carol", it promises "never before such action, thrills, romance, and adventure" and encourages viewers to "rouse to the daring escapades of the rangers who take life and love as they find it". The celebration will also feature a performance by Pete Sweeney on the mighty Wurlitzer organ, Movietone newsreels, an animated short for the kids, a silent auction, treats from the A&W Rootbeer Mobile, and more! Tickets are offered at throwback prices of just 50 cents for adults and 10 cents for children under 12.
