About Us

2025 Nonprofit of the Year Finalist
2024 James Irvine Foundation Leadership Awarded to Cofounders Nick Vargas and Brian Poth

The Source LGBT+ Center began as a community-driven effort in 2016 and has since grown into the largest LGBTQ+ center between Los Angeles and Sacramento. Our nonprofit organization is located in Visalia at the Lincoln Oval. Our mission is to create supportive spaces where LGBTQ+ people can learn, grow, belong, and thrive. Each year, we engage over 52,000 individuals through events, programs, and outreach across Tulare, Kings, and Fresno Counties. Our programs include HIV prevention and supportive services, youth leadership, mental health and peer support, substance use prevention, and community engagement. We host premier events such as Drag Queen Bingo, Pride Visalia, and our Annual Gala. Through strategic partnerships we work toward a vision of a Central Valley where all LGBTQ+ people are valued and celebrated.
