Celebrate March is Red Cross Month with us at our Virtual Volunteer Fair so you can be ready to roll up your sleeves to help those in need! Down the street, across the country, around the world; the American Red Cross responds to an emergency every 8 minutes. No one else does this: not the government, not other charities. From small house fires to multi-state natural disasters, Red Cross volunteers go wherever they're needed, so people can have clean water, safe shelter, and hot meals when they need them most. Representing more than 90% of the Red Cross workforce, volunteers are the backbone of our lifesaving mission. Never has this been more noticeable than this past year when the Red Cross provided more nights of emergency shelter than any point on record due to an unprecedented wildfire season in conjunction with the economic fallout from the pandemic. It’s through the efforts of ordinary people, like you, that we can do these extraordinary things.
